Rio Architects were commissioned by Atlantic Property Developments to provide the interior design for this residential development at 30 Cathedral Road in Cardiff. The client brief required a contemporary interior that provided a comfortable environment in which to live.

The Rio response created light spaces with clean lines that were broken down with the introduction of timber floors, kitchen and vanity units. The bathrooms have benefitted from the incorporation of the waste pipe boxing into the vanity unit design to provide a timber element that brings a warm ambience into the space.   

The staircase to the existing Victorian house has been redesigned with a modern dynamic stair design that has been formed using timber and glass. Rio have created a light and exciting space, whilst respecting the Victorian past by maintaining the original stain glass windows.
