Troika Construct Limited have commenced works on the Rio designed Digital Hub project in Newport, for Garrison Barclay Estates. We are delighted to see the progression of this exciting and important development for the City of Newport.
This commercial office development will provide a high-quality refurbishment of the former Royal Mail building on Mill Street in Newport. The offices will be contemporary, unique and provide a stimulating environment to support businesses utilising these workspaces. The office façade comprises of a dynamic integrated arrangement of coloured shipping container cladding projections together with a metal mesh cladding system. Pockets of the mesh are removed in certain areas to reveal a layer of crisp curtain walling detailing behind.
The scheme received full planning approval in August 2018. It will offer a high-quality design in a prominent location within the vicinity of Newport train station, which will benefit from exposure to the main London Paddington to Swansea train line. The project is one of a number currently being undertaken by Garrison Barclay Estates that are anticipated to leave a positive legacy of landmark developments within the City.
