The Central Quay development sits to the south of Cardiff City Centre and will form a new mixed-use quarter linking in to the recently completed development at Central Square. The Ledger will be the first building developed on the Central Quay site and will form a key node to the south of Cardiff Central Station. The building comprises three distinct blocks arranged in a fanned form that successfully turns the alignment of the masterplan from proposed ‘Boulevard’ to the existing station entrance.
The building will be entered at the ground floor through an open, flexible marketplace space which will showcase the best of local produce and craftsmanship. This space will also open onto two new public squares, one of which has the existing Brains chimney as its centrepiece. Visitors to the office spaces will be directed through the lift core up to the 9th floor reception space where there are wide-reaching views across Cardiff and South Wales.
